Event TITLE:                        Military Search Workshop                           

Aim:                                      

Working level solutions to further cooperation and effectiveness of NATO Military Search efforts.

 

Event Objectives:           

The objectives of the workshop are to:

 

(1). Improve interoperability and cooperation in this field in order to ensure a robust and effective Military Search effort in contemporary and future missions.

(2). Present to the audience the actions taken and the status of the different tasks identified in action list issued in the last MS WS

(3). Military Search Whitepaper development (GBR lead)

(4). Military Search Advisor structure, training and role in planning (NLD lead)

(5). Military Search advanced search team tasks definition.

Target audience:             

The target audience for this workshop is working level staff officers and Senior NCOs directly involved in National or NATO Military Search operations, development, or training.

 

Event Length:                    3 days

52 companies from 10 nations will present their latest products related to Military Engineering; especially in the fields of Mobility, Counter Mobility, Survivability and General Engineering Support.

The Military Engineering Centre of Excellence held its first NATO Military Engineering Staff Officers Course (NMESOC) of 2011. This provided an excellent opportunity for those taking up posts in their respective HQs to meet some of their counterparts from across NATO. There were 21 participants from 7 nations attending the course.

The next NMESOC will take place during week 38 (19 - 23 Sep 11). This is a change of date on the academic calendar. Currently there are 5 confirmed participants from 4 different nations. .

COE Study on Water Harvesting and Recycling in Expeditionary Operations PDF Print E-mail

18th Jul 2011, The COE Water Study is updated with the NAMSA (NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency) contribution for drilling and recycling equipment in annexes D and F.

The purpose of this COE study requested by SACT is to produce:

 1. A draft concept for water provision in field deployments (limited to the deployment of one NRF-size HQ camp 400 men).

 2. An inventory of NATO and national documents that deal with water production and recycling.

 3. A not exhaustive inventory of equipment used or developed within NATO nations. The equipment is classed by functions (drilling, water purification and storage, recycling and water treatment stand alone equipment).
